Connecting normals in Stylish Type in a certain sequence results in an auto combo, and leaving the control stick in a neutral position will automatically block mid and high attacks. Stylish Type introduced a new "Special" button for special moves and Overdrives.

An update title to Revelator titled Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 was announced at Arc System Works Fighting Game Award 2016 on Januand released for Arcades in March 2017, while PS3, PS4. When glowing red, Blitz Attack absorbs all rejectable moves, while the Blitz Attack itself cannot be rejected by an opponent. A sequel follow-up, titled Guilty Gear Xrd Revelator, was released on consoles in May 2016 in Japan and June 2016 elsewhere as the 6th main installment.
